Pens Meet the President

Posted in Uncategorized on September 12, 2009 by samb1988

On Thursday, September 10, the entire Penguins team went to the White House and met President Obama.

Before the Pens went to the White House, some players (Sidney Crosby, Bill Guerin, Jordan Staal, Brooks Orpik, and Marc-Andre Fleury) provided some help at a youth hockey clinic.

The Penguins then went on a tour of the White House and finally met the President.  When meeting President Obama, Penguins coach Dan Bylsma presented the president with a Penguins number 44 “Obama” jersey.  President Obama extended his congratulations to the team and its leaders.  “I’d like to congratulate Sidney Crosby on becoming the youngest captain in history to win (the Cup) and Evgeni Malkin for being the third-youngest (playoff) MVP.”
